My JAB's Red Head (or Red-headed Step Child) is a solid all around midge pattern for both lakes and stream. Numerous color combinations are available to the tier however, black/red. cream/red, tan/red and oilve/red are the top producers. What ever body color you decide to tie ensure the Holoshimmer matches the body color. With a cream body pearl Holoshimmer is preferred over Flashabou.
A pupa pattern can be tied with Antron, Sparkle Yarn or Fluoro Fiber in either white or gray, The wing is tied in prior to forming/completing the head.
Materials
Hook: Daiichi 1270 or TMC 200, Sizes 18 to 22 (Daiichi 1270 #20 is pictured)
Thread: 14/0 (Veevus) color of choice
Ribbing: Sulky Holoshimmer (Dark Pewter is pictured) #6002
Head: 14/0 Veevus, red
Cover the entire body/body with a coat or two of UZ resin.
