Red Ass - #11 of 150

The Red Ass is another pattern that utilizes Veevus Body Quill.   The red butt is transparent and imitates hemoglobin in some midges.  However give other colors a try, e.g., chartreuse, fl. yellow, fl. orange and fl. pink.   To compliment the body a wing of Glamour Madeira (see Top Secret Midge) has been added.


Materials

 Hook:  TMC 2488, TMC 2488H, Daiichi 1140, sizes 18-22 (TMC 2488H, size 22 pictured.)
Thread:  Veevus 14/0, black
Underbody:  Red Veevus Body Quill (
Ribbing:  Hend's 0.09, silver
Body:  Black Veevus Body Quill
Wing:  Glamour Madeira (thinned down)
Thorax:  Super Fine dubbing, black.

    Where did you find a source for glamour Madeira? And was it No. 8? And was the color prism white?
